Working at MIL has proven to be an exciting and challenging new endeavor. I am currently writing and editing existing FAA Travel Policy documentation, as well as assisting in the collection and organization of information for preparing user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports. In addition to these, I've also taken on duties editing functional descriptions, system specifications, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents. And, of course I assist in performing financial and administrative functions, as appropriate.
As a small, family owned business, my job at Kno-Rad had me wear many hats. Daily, I was responsible for creating very sensitive sensors, but often would handle company IT problems, create internal documentation, write user manuals and instructions, mix volatile chemistry, manufacture sensitive testing devices, and wash highly contaminated dishes.
I worked a short term contract for the business website Bizilla.com. My job was to interview SMEs and input their advice into a blog post column while also making sure the posts were search engine optimized.
Teaching at a university taught me to work well under the pressures of academia. Marking and grading college level essays helped me to greatly improve my editing skills and the intensive courses gave me a superior grasp of grammar and formatting.
Kaplan was my first truly multicultural experience. Leading a classroom full of students from all parts of the planet gave me a unique perspective on the world. It also had the added benefit of teaching me superb diplomatic skills no matter what culture I may be interacting with.
Youngdo was my first experience with classroom management. This gave me the opportunity to learn the leadership skills necessary to guide projects towards completion. The adventure of living in another country also taught me how to work well under degrees of stress.
My company worked for a government funded program that sent me to low income family houses to support their child's education. We worked from a curriculum provided by the state to ensure that all of the students were up to standards set forth by SoLs, with my personal subject being English.
Working in QA for a game production company, our task was to find bugs and input them into a database that the developers could use in order to fix issues that arose during development. Accomplishments include being part of the team that produced 2007's Game of the Year, "Bioshock."
